Rolls-Royce reveals new Boat Tail inspired by the beauty of pearls

Rolls-Royce has unveiled a new Boat Tail at the Concorso d'Eleganza, on the shores of Lake Como.
This new Boat Tail - one of just three that have been, and ever will be made - is said to have been commissioned by a patron whose family business has grown from his father's origins in the pearling industry.
The unique hosting suite of this Boat Tail is covered with a Royal Walnut veneer which will mature to match the tone of the car's bonnet Four pearl shells, personally chosen from his private collection for their unique colour and complexity are said to have been presented to Rolls-Royce in order to inform this unique commission.
And in return, the firm has taken from them the inspiration to produce one of the most complex Bespoke finishes ever laid onto the exterior of a Rolls-Royce.
The foundation of the colour is a shimmering blend of oyster and soft rose, with large white and bronze mica flakes adding a unique pearlescent quality that changes subtly under different light conditions.
This Boat Tail also gets a unique contrasting cognac-coloured bonnet, which contains fine bronze and gold coloured aluminium mica flakes complete with a layer of crystal and iced matt clear coat, for added warmth and depth to the car's appearance.
Central timepiece in this Boat Tail is made of mother-of-pearl, and supplied by the comissioning client from his own collection And up front of this bonnet, rests the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot, here fashioned out of rose gold.
At the rear meanwhile, this Boat Tail's unique 'butterfly-design' hosting suite is swathed in Royal Walnut veneer, inlaid with rose gold-plated pinstripes with a satin-brushed finish, for a sensitive and sophisticated appearance.
This Royal Walnut, specifically selected by the client, will apparently mature over time, gradually transitioning to match the tonal properties of the cognac bonnet.
Step into this Boat Tail and you'll find an interior made from a combination of perfectly matched cognac and oyster-coloured leathers alongside Royal Walnut veneers, with rose gold and mother-of-pearl accents.
