These few days, the weather may have been gloomy and grey, but that did not put a dampener on our moods, as on 15 January 2025, Singapore became the first country in the Asia-Pacific region to be graced with the unveiling of the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II.
Set in the peaceful and serene atmosphere at Air CCCC at Dempsey Road, guests were served delicious canapes and beverages, soaking in both the relaxed vibes and the stunning design of the luxury car
An elegant and sleek design is complemented by the illuminated Rolls-Royce Pantheon grille, as well as updated head light and daytime running light graphics flowing from its lower section to the edge of the front wings, with the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot perched on the front of the bonnet. At the rear, the Ghost Series II sports a new tail lamp configuration featuring two expressive, vertical light panels flanked by a curved chrome element discreetly engraved with the double 'R' monogram. Clients have the option of choosing from two new 22-inch nine-spoke wheel designs, one fully polished and the other partly polished.
The interior celebrates both analog and digital craftsmanship, with the Central Information Display - housed in the new pillar-to-pillar glass panel - equipped with Rolls-Royce's SPIRIT operating system, allowing clients to extend their Bespoke commission from hardware to software: The colour of the digital instrument dials can be tailored to complement the interior or exterior finishes. SPIRIT also integrates Whispers, the Rolls-Royce private members application, allowing owners to send destinations directly to the car, view its location, and remote vehicle locking.
Alongside the Central Information Display is the new Spirit of Ecstasy Clock Cabinet, housing an analog timepiece and a solid stainless-steel Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. Completing the cabin's design is the Illuminated Fascia craft feature spanning the full width of the passenger side, as well as a new interior material: Grey-Stained Ash.
A new upholstery, Duality Twill, adorns the Ghost Series II's seats. This is a highly complex process requiring up to 2.2 million stitches, with all the threads combined measuring about 18km. The base twill textile is available in three colours: Lilac, Chocolate, and Black, with the thread available in 51 different hues. Alternatively, customers may choose Placed Perforation, in which small perforations are made in the seat leather to create unique artworks.
Powering the luxury car's all-wheel steering and all-wheel drivetrain is Rolls-Royce's 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine and eight-speed gearbox offering 563bhp and 850Nm of torque, with the latter available from just 1,600rpm. It is also equipped with the Planar Suspension System creating the sense of a 'magic carpet ride', with its five-link rear axle also benefitting from the same self-levelling, high-volume air suspension technology.
The Ghost Series II's suspension and chassis systems are augmented with the marque's Flagbearer System, which uses cameras to read the road ahead and prepare the suspension for any changes in the road surface, and is supplemented by its Satellite Aided Transmission, using GPS data to select the optimum gear for exiting a corner
Alongside the Ghost Series II, Rolls-Royce has also announced that the Black Badge Ghost Series II and the Ghost Extended Series II will also be available.
The former's most significant styling statement is the lower grille, marking the first time Black Badge Ghost has received a unique styling treatment and also the first time its door handles are completed with a black finish. It also sports a 22-inch, part-polished, seven-spoke, forged wheelset.
The latter offers 6.69-inches of additional space in the rear suite, enabled by only extending the rear doors and apertures. Clients seeking the Ghost Extended Series II's most elevated expression can also commission the marque’s reclining Serenity Seating. A champagne cooler can also be requested, operating between two cooling modes: Chilling to six degrees and 11 degrees Celsius.
The Ghost Series II, Black Badge Ghost Series II, and Ghost Extended Series II are now available for order at the Rolls-Royce Singapore showroom.
