From the electrification of our mobility needs to the changing consumer preferences on our island and beyond: These are but a slice of the topics discussed at the Sgcarmart C-Suite Roundtable conference.
In attendance were industry notables including Charmain Kwee, Group Executive Director, of the Eurokars Group, Wilfrid Foo, Managing Director, Direct Motor Interests, of Jardine Cycle & Carriage, and Marcel Perez, President & CEO at Mercedes-Benz Singapore.
The C-Suite Roundtable saw Sgcarmart engaging with a host of Singapore's top leaders and movers from the mobility sector
But it was not just the automotive dealers that were represented: Also gracing the event was Doong Shiwen, General Manager, Mobility and Convenience, from Shell Singapore and Dean Cher, Managing Director, SP Mobility, Sustainable Energy Solutions, of the SP Group.
And to lend some hard data on global trends on top of leading the discussion, was Yasu Murakami, Future of Mobility, Strategy, Risk & Transaction Partner at Monitor Deloitte, and Karthik Kannan, Executive Director and Head of Global Automotive Coverage, from DBS Bank.
Held to promote further discussion of the pressing mobility issues amongst the various leaders of our automotive industry, the event saw Singapore's leading movers in the mobility scene joining Sgcarmart to share their insights and views on the changes that they observed in the region.
Attendees got to share their views on a host of pressing mobility issues here in Singapore and the region
And what a discussion it was. Attendees shared their observations across a host of topics including how they anticipated consumers would react if subsidies related to electrification were adjusted and how concerns including safety and range anxiety affected local purchasing decisions.
Also on the table for discussion were topics including the potential acceptance of vehicle-to-grid technologies here in Singapore, and the viability of hydrogen as a fuel both locally and in the region.
And of course, once the sharing session was done, we then took the opportunity to share a spot of lunch with all those present!
Sgcarmart is planning to expand its role in the local mobility landscape, whether it be steering the discussion when it comes mobility issues, or facilitating greater collaboration between industry actors and public policy makers, and of course, to engage with more industry leaders still, so keep a close tab on any updates we post here!
