The show, organised by the Motor Traders Association, was launched in 1992 and held every two years.
But with dwindling participation by motor companies and falling visitor numbers, it was suspended after the 2008 show. The last event featured only three car brands: Honda, Nissan and Subaru.
Association president Glenn Tan told the local paper that it already has strong interest from a number of companies. It is understood the confirmed list includes Mazda, Honda, Kia, Citroen, Mitsubishi and Subaru.
"We plan to have some product unveilings. Nissan, for sure, will unveil a new model," said Mr. Tan. He also added that January was ideal because it is the start of a new year, just before a new COE quota is announced, and that Chinese New Year would be around the corner. Mr. Tan concluded that the upcoming show will be held over four days.
