Singapore to match Malaysia's tolls at Causeway from 1st October

The Straits Times reported that from 1^st October, Singapore's toll charges for all vehicles, except motorcycles, leaving across the Causeway will be increased to match the new Malaysian fee.

Cars leaving Singapore can now expect to pay $3.80, up from $1.20. A new fee of $2.70 will also to be introduced for cars entering the country.

Vans and light goods vehicles departing Singapore will pay $5.80, up from $1.90. In addition, $4.00 will be charged for vans and light goods vehicles entering Singapore.

The largest increase in toll charges will affect heavy goods vehicles, a difference of $5.10, from $2.60 to $7.70 for leaving the country. Those entering the Republic will need to pay $5.30.

On the other hand, taxis will see the smallest increase of $1.30 from $0.60 to $1.90 from 1^st October. Taxis entering Singapore will pay $1.40.

For buses leaving Singapore, they will have to pay $3.10, up $2.10 from $1.00. Buses entering Singapore can expect to pay $2.20.
