Hyundai has been expanding its collaborations with universities everywhere, and locally, the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre Singapore (HMGICS) also looks all set to advance its work with local educational institutions.
Just weeks after the unveil of a special Ioniq 6 art car developed in collaboration with Lasalle College of the Arts, HMGICS has now handed over one Ioniq 5 to the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.
The organisations state that they share a commitment to advancing to education, training, and research in electric mobility, smart manufacturing, and energy storage technologies.
The vehicle will be utilised as a practical learning tool by students and faculty of SIT and will be supporting the schools applied research and coursework in electric vehicle technology and related fields while being integrated into its research projects and academic programmes. The move will provide students with hands-on experience in areas such as vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies, advanced diagnostics, energy storage systems, power electronics, and EV charging infrastructure development.
Both organisations will also share industry attachment opportunities and exchange technical expertise. This new collaboration builds on HMGIC's efforts to engage with local institutions and industry partners in supporting workforce development and knowledge-sharing.
