SK Garage scores podium finish in the Malaysia Championship Series

Singaporean racing team SK Garage scored a podium finish in the last round of the Malaysia Championship Series, along with scoring a valuable point in Race 2, despite facing mechanical difficulties.

Despite the issues, the SK Garage team worked tirelessly to get the car ready for Race 1.
When the safety car was deployed during an incident, a radical pit strategy pushed on by the team manager had chosen not to have the #17 SK Garage Civic Type R FD2 turn into the pits.
As a result of other teams calling for pit stops under the safety car, SK Garage avoided the resulting pit lane traffic - allowing Jonathan to clock an additional two more laps, pushing his position from P6 up to P3 by the end of Race 1.
By Race 2, Jonathan managed to hold his position in P3 till the compulsory pit window opened, despite various efforts from turbocharged competitors such as the Mercedes-AMG A45 and the Civic Type R FK8. But technical issues during a pit stop had SK Garage drop into P13 once Jonathan joined the race again.
Despite the setback in the pits, Jonathan completed the race in P7, scoring a valuable point in the championship.
Still, Jonathan was in good spirits. "I'm grateful for everyone in the team in preparing for the race," he said.
"I drove as hard as I could to live up to everyone's expectations, and the podium in Race 1 was one we won as a team," he added.
Jonathan has scored seven consecutive wins thus far, and is the only Singaporean driver who has performed well in this series. The team is always looking for new drivers and sponsors to join Jonathan and SK Garage in its racing efforts. Those interested may contact the team directly, at [email protected].
