SMRT introduces new feeder bus service in Yishun

The new 803 feeder bus service starting on 16th February will give Yishun residents more options to get to the Yishun bus interchange and Yishun MRT station, reported The Straits Times.
The service, operated by SMRT, will run daily from 5:20am until 12:55am from Mondays to Saturdays. It will start slightly later, at 5:30am, on Sundays and public holidays. It will enhance connectivity to Nee Soon East Community Centre, North Point Bizhub, and schools such as Xishan Primary and Yishun Town Secondary.
This is the 21st bus route launched under LTA's Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) to increase bus capacity significantly. The programme kicked off in September 2012.
The BSEP will add 800 new buses and about 40 new routes to the network. The Government will foot the bill for 550 buses while the operators will pay for 250. The programme was initially estimated to cost $1.1 billion but the eventual figure is likely to exceed that.
