Subaru of America, Inc. has revealed the facelifted Legacy sedan
The 2023 car has received updated styling and new safety and in-vehicle technologies, alongside a new ‘Sport’ trim in the U.S.A, which will be powered be a turbocharged 2.4-litre engine producing 256bhp and 376Nm of torque.
'Sport' trim cars in the U.S.A will come with a turbocharged 2.4-litre engine and can be identified by the red accent in the front grille All other trim levels of the Subaru Legacy for the U.S.A market will come powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre that delivers 180bhp and 238Nm of torque. Power is put onto the road via Subaru's Lineartronic continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive technology.
Up front of the new Subaru Legacy, there's a new front fascia that houses a new front bumper cover, larger grille, and redesigned LED head lights and fog lights. 'Sport' models meanwhile, are distinguished by the addition of a red accent across the front grille, along with magnetite grey metallic side mirrors and trunk spoiler, as well as grey 18-inch alloy wheels.
Step into the cabin and you'll find Subaru's Starlink 11.6-inch multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
The Subaru Legacy comes standard with the firm's EyeSight driver assistance technology, which includes Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering. The top trim 'Touring XT' meanwhile gets a wide-angle mono camera that alloes the EyeSight system to recognise pedestrians and bicycles sooner when the vehicle enters an intersection at low speed.
'Sport' and 'Touring XT' trim cars will also get the DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System, which uses a dedicated infrared camera and facial recognition technology to identify signs of driver fatigue or distraction and provides audio and visual warnings to alert the driver and passengers.
