Subaru unveils the Impreza WRX STI Spec C

Among the performance enhancements to the Impreza WRX STI Spec C include an ECU remap and the addition of new ball-bearings for the twin-scroll turbocharger. This brings power up to 304bhp and 430Nm of torque for the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.

The WRX STI Spec C also gets a driveline change to a mechanical rear limited-slip differential, which is different from the Torsen-type on the previous car, and the front chassis has been reinforced with a new cross member.

Subaru has also shaved some weight from the Spec C by giving it an aluminium bonnet, a smaller battery, and 18-inch light alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone POTENZA RE070 tyres. Gold brake callipers are standard, while Recaro sport seats are available as an option.
