Subaru winner of two consecutive Special Achievement Awards

The Subaru Legacy victory follows the Subaru Exiga’s win of the 2008-2009 Car of the Year Japan’s "Most Fun Award", making Subaru a highly-regarded winner of two consecutive Car of the Year Japan Special Achievement Awards

The annual Car of the Year Japan awards are given to newly released or redesigned vehicles released to the Japanese car buying market from 1st November of the previous year to 31st October of the current, with each award spanning two calendar years. The award has been presented since 1980, with its supervisory board made up primarily of respected Japanese automotive journalists.

Being handed the Best Value Award from the prestigious Car of the Year Japan sums up what the Subaru Legacy is about; an all-round winner in safety, value and driving performance," said Ms. Hannah

To mark the Legacy’s 20th anniversary, Subaru engineers raised the bar with the new series that incorporated Subaru’s heritage of handling and performance into a bold and purposeful package. The new Legacy series asserts presence on the road with its larger, daring design and offers the driver an enhanced driving performance, evolved passenger safety and increased interior space.

In awarding the winner, the jury cited the Subaru Legacy Series "as a "Best Value" car that delivers superior driving performance with matured Subaru’s core technology, symmetrical All Wheel Drive system and Horizontally-Opposed Boxer Engine, and its attractive pricing.
