Suzuki announces passing of Senior Advisor Osamu Suzuki

Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced that Mr Osamu Suzuki, Senior Advisor of the Company, has passed away on 25 December 2024 at the age of 94, just over a month shy of his 95th birthday.
Born on 30 January 1930 in Gero City, Gifu Prefecture, Osamu graduated from the Faculty of Law, Chuo University on March 1953. He had three children, one of whom is Toshihiro Suzuki, who currently occupies the position of President and Representative Director at Suzuki Motor Corporation.
Osamu joined Suzuki Motor Corporation on April 1958, and worked his way up the hierarchy, finally being appointed as Director and President on June 1978. He attained the position of Director and Chairman and President in June 2008, a role he held until June 2021, when he was appointed as Senior Advisor.
As a key figure of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Osamu achieved a host of awards, including The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, Japan in May 2000, before being inducted into the Japan Automobile Hall of Fame in November 2002. To commemorate his service, the company plans to hold a farewell gathering at a later date.
