Suzuki Jimny 5-Door officially launched in Singapore

First previewed at the 2024 Singapore Motor Show, Champion Motors - the official distributor for Suzuki - has finally announced the launch and official Singapore debut of the Suzuki Jimny 5-Door, which is offered in nine exterior colours.
Bigger and roomier than the standard three-door Jimny, the Jimny 5-Door has the same ground clearance of 210mm, but gets a longer wheelbase of 2,590mm, more rear legroom, and most crucially of course, two extra rear doors.
Likewise, while it undoubtedly retains iconic Jimny design features such as the signature boxy silhouette and a bold five-slot front grille, it's worth pointing out that the latter is finished here in chrome (rather than the matte black on standard Jimny). These are paired with rugged enhancements such as flared wheel arches and roof rails.
Other notable exterior features include the iconic round, automatic LED projector head lamps; front and rear fog lamps; and automatic outside door mirrors that are electrically adjustable and foldable.
Inside, a leather-covered, three-spoke steering wheel adds a degree of class, while the availability 50:50 split folding rear seats can expand the car's boot space from 211 litres by default to a maximum of 1,113 litres should the need arise. Keyless entry and push start ignition also offer a quicker start off the bat.
Under its hood of the Jimny 5-Door, the same naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine coughs up 101bhp and 130Nm of torque, allowing it to hit a top speed of 140km/h at full tilt. Not bad for a 4WD off-roader.
Perhaps most noteworthy to adventure-seekers, however, is the fact that the Jimny 5-Door's extra pair of doors has not compromised its offroading capabilities; the car is still equipped with a low-range gearbox and Suzuki's AllGrip Pro four-wheel drive system. In terms of safety, the car also offers a host of ADAS features such as Hill Hold and Descent Control, Brake Assist, and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).
The Jimny 5-Door is being sold at a starting price of $224,888, with its Two-Tone variant going for $225,888.
