Suzuki fans here in Singapore now have a new option that will easily accommodate a growing family, with the launch of the new S-Cross.
At 4,305mm long and 1,785mm wide, the Suzuki S-Cross is significantly larger than the 3,480mm-long Suzuki Jimny, and brings Suzuki into a market filled with options including the Nissan Kicks e-POWER, Peugeot 2008, or the Volkswagen T-Cross.
And the Suzuki S-Cross has the bold, extroverted styling to go up against all these. Up front on the S-Cross is a large grille, complete with a horizontal chrome element. This grille is flanked by LED head lights. Suzuki states that the bonnet and grille of the crossover has been placed at an elevated height to give it visual aggression, further supported by the rugged design of its rims.
At the rear, the adventure-ready look is further supported by a large bumper which is finished with a silver garnish.
Inside, the Suzuki S-Cross has the versatility to match its rugged exterior design. The crossover is said to be able to accommodate five in comfort, while its 440-litre boot is further supported by a 60:40 folding rear bench.
Powering the S-Cross is a 1.4-litre Boosterjet engine supported by mild hybrid technology. This engine is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, which can be controlled via steering-wheel mounted shifter paddles.
This engine offers a total of 127bhp and 235Nm of torque, allowing the car to hit 100km/h from a standstill in 12.7 seconds. Drive sensibly, and the car will return a claimed fuel economy of 17.5km/L.
The Suzuki S-Cross comes with driver assistance features including a 360-degree camera, as well as a Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Departure Warning system. The car is available in a total of seven exterior colours.
