Suzuki has also changed a few styling details on the SX4 Hybrid Concept, giving it a new paintjob and blue-tinted light clusters. There is also a new front bumper with fog lamps in place of air intakes previously, and a new grille as well as a slightly redesigned rear bumper.
The SX4 Hybrid uses a 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to a 50-kW electric motor, which is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. The SX4 Hybrid can be driven for short distances on electricity alone, and power is transmitted to the wheels via a five-speed semi-automatic transmission.
Suzuki says that it plans to put the SX4 Hybrid into production within the next five years, and will develop the car in partnership with several government programmes, as well as its Indian subsidiary, Maruti Suzuki.
