The exquisitely crafted Bentley Mulliner Bacalar nears its end of production

Bentley Mulliner has reported that only four more examples of the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar will be made, which will then mark the end of Bacalar production for good. Each Bacalar is handcrafted and represents the ultimate expression of two-seat, open-air luxury, and the first in a new series of pinnacle bespoke projects that Bentley Mulliner will be undertaking.
Eight Bacalars, each in a unique colour designed by their customers, have now been handed to their owners around the world. The final four cars are in the last phases of preparation in Mulliner's Crewe workshop for transport and delivery. Each car has taken six months to complete thanks to the incredibly detailed process required to craft each example to its owner's wishes.
The Bacalar is the first car in Bentley's history to feature a carbon fibre body The Bacalar's body is made entirely of carbon fibre and sits on unique 22-inch Tri-Finish wheels with polished faces, dark grey satin spokes and accent highlights to complement the exterior. Bespoke details and features in the cabin help to emphasise the coachbuilt nature, providing the fortunate customers a near infinite number of ways to express their personal taste by commissioning a unique interior.
Despite the Bacalar being the epitome of extravagance, it still pays attention to the increasing need for environmental friendliness. Its paint contains ash from rice husks, providing a sustainable yet elegant way of producing a rich metallic finish. Natural British wool and 5,000-year old Riverwood are also used in the production of the car.
Another interesting fact about the Bacalar is that there are 148,199 individual stitches needed to embroider the unique Bacalar quilt on each seat, something which has never been seen on any other Bentley before.
