The recently facelifted version of the fourth-generation Skoda Octavia has begun production in its main plant in Mlada Boleslav.
The newest iteration of the current Octavia features not just cosmetic and technological upgrades, but also an increased proportion of sustainable materials - notably, in the seats, dashboard and door trims. The exterior of the new Octavia delivers a more dynamic and sleeker look, while the interior now allows the customers to pick between a selection of four trim levels, and nine Design Selection trims.
On a technological level, the Octavia now features a new 10-inch display for its infotainment system, alongside various improvements towards the driving experience. Advanced safety aids such as Collision Avoidance Assist, Turn Assist, and Exit Warning have been added, while the integration of ChatGPT to Laura, the voice assistant system, will help in expanding the car's voice command system.
Despite starting off in the Mlada Boleslav plant, the production of the Octavia will be transferred to the Kvasiny plant later this year. Skoda states that this strategic move will be done to increase the production capacity for Octavia while creating space at the Mlada Boleslav plant for the production of the Enyaq, Enyaq Coupe, and Elroq models.
Since its premiere in 1996, the Octavia has embodied Skoda's new image, setting new standards in offering value to customers, and helping to shape the company's direction. The Octavia is also a top seller in many regards, leading sales ranking in multiple European countries.
