In Hall B and C of the 2012 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), a total of nine automotive brands were there with their products and latest technologies.

At the French's booth, the new Peugoet 408, 107, 308, 508, 3008, 207 and the Peugeot RCZ were all in place, making them one of the most prominent brands at the show. Taking the theme 'Excellence, Emotion and Allure', Peugeot showcased environmental-friendly automotive technologies. Amongst those technologies - ION Technology - Peugeot's concept electric vehicle, took the stage as one of the concepts of green technology, as well as the micro hybrid with e-HDi technology that supports vehicle responsiveness yet producing only minimal carbon emission. Now, the latest from Peugeot is the 208. Although it is unclear when it'll reach our shores, the car is set to enter Indonesia in the second quarter of 2013.
Chevrolet
Chevrolet displayed its Captiva, Orlando, Colorado, Spark, Aveo, and the All New Trailblazer at its 1092-square-metre exhibition area in Hall C. After its recent launch of the Trailblazer, Chevy is introducing an MPV called the Chevrolet Spin. This car is planned to be manufactured in Indonesia with a production target of 40,000 units per year for export to a number of countries in Asia and America.

This brand has finally arrived for its introduction. Tata Motors introduced 13 types of its products like the Tata Nano, Tata Indica Vista, Tata Aria and many more. Cheap but qualified City car concept and environmentally friendly is adapted in the venue of this Indian manufacturer. Tata presented CNG vehicles which contribute to a decrement in greenhouse effect. These include the Tata Nano CNG Concept, Tata Ace CNG, Tata Xenon CNG, Tata Magic CNG and the TATA LPO 1623 RE LE CNG Bus. All CNG devices in Tata Motors has been made, developed and directly in-house tested by the engineers of Tata Motors.
Chrysler
Chrysler's booth came with some of its other brands like Dodge, Jeep and the one that has been introduced as SRT. SRT is an acronym for Street Racing and Technology, the division created by Chrysler at 2002 for the high performance vehicles. Chrysler also introduced some of its vehicles like the Chrysler 300C, the Grand Cherooke SRT8 and the Chrysler All New 300C SRT8. What we personally liked, though, was the American muscle legend Dodge Charger Redline.

An area of 672 square metres, the booth of Mercedes-Benz was separated into four areas - display vehicles area, AMG Corner, Mercedes-Benz Accessories Collection Boutique and Mercedes-Benz Cafe on the second floor. Needless to say, the SL 350, which was presented in Indonesia for the first time, was the star of the show. Apart from that, the G 63 AMG and CLS Shooting Brake completed Mercedes Benz's presentation at the IIMS 2012.

They also presented several diesel engine variants such as the BMW X5 xDrive30d edition, X3 xDrive20d and X3 xDrive20d.
Audi
The main attraction for Audi was its Audi A6 2.0 TFSI. Underneath its bonnet is an inline 4-cyliner TFSI and is extremely frugal on paper - clocking a fuel consumption of 12.2km/L. Mated to a creamy 8-speed automatic transmission, this advanced petrol engine is able to throw a maximum output power of 180bhp and a peak torque of 320Nm, allowing the car to finish the century sprint in a respectable 8.3 seconds.

Volkswagen introduced two new variants during the show - the Tiguan and the Scirocco. Although official prices have not been released, it was estimated that the price of the Tiguan would be retailed between Rp 400 million (S$51,282) and Rp 600 million (S$76,985).
