The launch of the new Continental PremiumContact 6

Tyre distributor Stamford Tyres launched the new Continental PremiumContact 6 tyres at an event held on Sunday, 11^th June, at the Grand Hyatt Singapore. The new tyre from Continental successfully bridges the gap between a sedan tyre with high ride comfort and a tyre for sporty models.

The all new PremiumContact 6 tyre combines comfort, precise steering response, maximum safety and good environmental properties in a single product.

To this end, the development engineers have come up with new compounds, an innovative tyre design that borrows from Continental's high-tech SportContact 6 tyre, and a tread pattern that offers a more comfortable ride. The outcome is a product that delivers improvements of up to 15 percent in handling performance, rolling resistance, mileage and comfort compared to its predecesor. 

With the merging of the Premium and Sport lines of tyres, Continental engineers combined opposing qualities, known as target conflicts. The new innovations include a synthetic amorphous silica compound for short braking distances on wet roads, an abrasion-resistant polymer compound with a supple tread pattern to improve mileage by 15 percent and reduce noise by 10 percent, and an advanced macro-block design that employs long shoulder blocks that support one another to provide additional grip and steering precision for sporty handling. 

The new PremiumContact 6 comes in 70 sizes for rims from 16 to 21-inches to fit just about any passenger car or sport utility vehicle. The new tyre will gradually replace its successful predecessors, the ContiPremium 5 and ContiSportContact 5, both of which were very popular in the original equipment and replacement markets. The PremiumContact 6, along with Continental's sport line - the SportContact 6 - are available across all Stamford Tyres retail outlets.

All Passenger and Light Truck (PLT) tyres come with Continental's global standard warranty of two years from the date of installation by end customers.

Continental Tyre Malaysia is the first tyre brand in Singapore that guarantees its products by offering additional three years extended warranty through its official distributor Stamford Tyres International Pte Ltd, making the total warranty a five-year warranty from date of installation. The extended warranty is only offered to the Singapore market on any purchase from an authorised retailer of Stamford Tyres International Pte Ltd and Continental, and is applicable for all PLT tyres from 11^th November 2016 onwards.
