The new Audi TT - an update for the design icon

Audi's updated TT arrives on Singapore's shores, featuring a masculine, progressive and sportier design.
Available in both Coupe and Roadster varients, the redesigned TT's front features Audi's signature three-dimensional Singleframe radiator grille, while large side air inlets emphasise its width. LED head lights are also now standard for Singapore, and the dynamic turn signals provide an additional visual highlight to the car.
At the rear, horizontal lines again underscore the width of the new Audi TT. The car also features no additional cap underneath the fuel flap, allowing the driver to insert the gas pump nozzle directly into the port - a feature typically reserved for sports cars.
The new TT will be available in Singapore with 18-inch wheels, while Audi and Audi Sport optionally offer 18, 19 and 20-inch wheels. Three new colours also complete the range of paint finishes, comprising of Cosmos Blue, Pulse Orange and Turbo Blue (S line only).
The TT is now equipped with a new, direct injection 2.0-litre gasoline engine with 230bhp, in place of the previous 1.8-litre TFSI with 180bhp.
Power is transmitted through a S tronic six-speed dual-clutch transmission, made standard for Singapore. The close-ratio lower gears enable powerful acceleration, while the wide ratio of the highest gear reduces the engine speed and fuel consumption at higher speeds.
On the inside, S Sport seats with integrated head restraints come as standard. The luggage compartment of the 2+2 seater affords 305 litres of space underneath the stretched tailgate (280 litres on the Roadster).
All driving information appears in digital form on the 12.3-inch display of the Audi virtual cockpit, which allows the driver to choose between two display modes.
In classic view, the speedometer and tachometer take center stage, while in Infotainment mode, content such as the navigation map is enlarged.
The top-of-the-line MMI navigation plus with MMI touch integration on the upper surface of the rotary/push-button controls a touchpad that recognises handwritten input, and allows quick zooming for intuitive use. The voice control system has also been reworked and now understands numerous formulations from everyday speech.
Like every open-top Audi, the new TT Roadster comes with a soft top in either black or gray. The soft top has a taut fit, and its excellent sound insulation gives it the qualities of an 'acoustic top'. At 39kg, the top is also very light and does not compromise the luggage compartment. An electrical drive that opens and closes the top comes as standard and does so in around ten seconds at vehicle speeds of up to 50km/h.
The Audi TT Coupe is currently available for sale, while the Roadster will be available for sale shortly.
