BMW Asia and Performance Motors Limited have announced the availability of the facelifted BMW X1 in Singapore. The bold, sporty, and visually striking car that adds another chapter to the Sports Activity Vehicle's ongoing success story.
The model update for the X1 has imbued an already deeply handsome exterior with even greater aesthetic allure. At the front end, a more muscular and dominant presence is granted by a new, larger BMW grille - whose kidneys now merge in the middle - and the sharper light iconography of the new LED headlights.
All model variants now also feature larger air intakes which underscore the sporting genes of the X1.
Adding more drama to every drive in the X1, the optional lighting package now adds a driver's-side exterior mirror which is able to project a two-tone LED 'X1' image when the car is unlocked, making it easier to spot obstacles such as bumps or puddles when getting into and out of the car.
New available colours for the new BMW X1 include Jucaro Beige metallic, Misano Blue metallic (for the M Sport variant) and the ultra-exclusive BMW Individual Storm Bay metallic.
The car pulls off the balancing act of retaining compact dimensions on the outside, while delivering generous proportions on the inside with an intelligent vehicle structure and smartly conceived interior configuration.
The driver and front passenger enjoy freedom of movement, but so too do those in the rear seats, which can be folded down in a 40:20:40 split as standard, enabling considerable scope for variability.
The rear seats can also be adjusted fore and aft, with two sections in a 60:40 split being able to slide independently by up to 130mm. The backrest angle of the rear seats can also be varied through six stages.
A standard automatic tailgate now adds greater convenience, while hands-free tailgate opening and closing is now possible, courtesy of the standard Comfort Access system. This allows shopping bags, for example, to be loaded directly into the 505 to 1,550-litre boot without having to open the tailgate using a key or release handle.
The extremely efficient BMW X1 xDrive25e plug-in hybrid is also scheduled to join the X1 lineup next year.
