There's a new electric conversion kit for the DMC-12

If only Marty had one of these, maybe he wouldn't have had to depend on that bolt of lightning to get his DMC-12 to travel through time. Electric vehicle technology company Electrogenic has revealed a conversion kit to electrify the DeLorean DMC-12.

Described as a 'plug-and-play' fully reversible conversion, the kit will give the DeLorean a suite of batteries, located where the car's fuel tank will normally be. These are described as OEM grade items, and are said to sport unrivalled energy density, with a total capacity of 43kWh. These batteries give the converted car up to 240km of range.

These batteries feed an electric motor that delivers 215bhp of power and 310Nm of torque, allowing the converted DeLorean DMC-12 to complete the zero to 96km/h sprint in just under 5.0 seconds while adding only 40kg to the total weight of the car (so hitting that 88mph should be a fair bit easier).
