Toyota has unveiled a new Hilux GR Sport for its European markets.
The new pinnacle of the Toyota Hilux range, the Toyota Hilux GR Sport gets a new suspension alongside exclusive GR-themed design features.
At the front, the truck sports a G-pattern mesh grille that also features a prominent horizontal bar with the Toyota name rendered atop instead of the brand emblem. The new front is supported with larger fog lamp surrounds.
From the flank, the truck also gets 17-inch alloy wheels have a contrast black and machined finish, fitted with all-terrain tyres. These also cover the new shocks and springs, which are finished in bright red.
In the cabin, sports seats feature in the front row, sporting a combination of black leather and synthetic suede with red perforations and contrast stitching. GR Sport branding also features on the seatbacks, carpet mats, starter button and the information display animation graphic.
Carbon fibre-style trim inserts and a red deco line spans across the width of the dashboard of the Hilux GR Sport The cabin of the Toyota Hilux GR Sport also gets paddle shifters and aluminium sports pedals. And there's hardware underneath to support the new exterior design as well. To start, the Toyota Hilux GR Sport rides on new monotube shock absorbers, for better damping performance.
The truck also gets new stiffened front coil springs, in addition to the retuned rear leaf springs and new bushes for the current Hilux. These changes together promise significant improvements in handling, with increased steering angle response, a flat ride and reassuring roll resistance and rear grip feel.
Ride comfort is also said to be improved, with faster response to high-frequency vibrations and increased damping capability to control body movement and eliminate shock.
