Toyota Aygo X gets first full hybrid variant

Designed and produced in Europe to bring a stylish solution to the demands of urban and suburban life, the Toyota Aygo X has proved enduringly popular with customers, with more than 287,000 units sold since hitting Europe's roads in 2022.
Now, the all-new Toyota Aygo X Hybrid will offer more power and sharper acceleration for a more engaging - and more efficient - driving experience. Overall system power output of the Aygo X Hybrid has been increased by 43bhp as compared to the previous non-hybrid version, reaching a maximum of 114bhp and giving it the agility desired for dynamic urban driving, with a century sprint timing of less than 10 seconds.
The Aygo X Hybrid's new powertrain, today available in the Yaris and Yaris Cross, will fully replace the 1.0-litre petrol engine of its predecessor.
Exterior-wise, the Aygo X Hybrid has a new hood, new headlamps, and new front grille, creating a stronger stance that is enhanced by 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels (depending on the grade) and black flared wheel arches.
The optional bi-tone colour scheme boldly adds to the car's dynamic presence, with black extending seamlessly from the roof across the rear and down to the side sills while refined exterior colour options draw inspiration from a 'mellow spice' concept.
An exclusive Canvas roof style, which incorporates front grille-inspired elements in a unique gradation pattern, is also introduced as an option on higher grades.
Inside, the new variant maximises interior space with a high driving position for superior visibility, as well as space to carry anything from everyday essentials to larger luggage, thanks to its 231-litre boot capacity.
Further interior features include a new 7.0-inch digital combi-meter and heater control panel, while an electronic parking brake comes as standard on all grades, as do two USB-C charging ports. A new wireless smartphone charger, a digital key, powered folding mirrors, and nanoeX technology for improved air quality are also available on higher grades.
In addition, for the first time, a GR Sport variant of the Aygo X has been introduced. It will feature exclusive features such as the exclusive "G-pattern" mesh, GR Sport alloy wheels, and GR logo embroidery in its interior.
The new Aygo X variant will go on sale in European markets at the end of 2025.
