Citing the current "international situation", Toyota severed ties with the under-performing market. For the year, the struggling automaker has sold just 220 vehicles there - down from 4,000 in 2008.
In June, the US, the United Nations, and the European Union imposed sanctions against Iran, for failing to halt their Nuclear Programme.
Shortly after the sanctions were handed down, Toyota stopped sending vehicles to its Iranian owned distributor.
So far, Toyota is the only major automaker to suspend its Iranian distribution.
A Toyota official stated that the company would "continue to closely monitor the international situation".
