The Toyobaru collaboration on the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ has been a success so far. While our reviews of the cars are still on the way, we have been reading rave reviews, around the web.
Toyota is certainly keeping track of the car's progress, and due to the success the Japanese automaker is reportedly keener to engage in joint ventures in the future. Previously, Toyota had worked with PSA Peugeot-Citroën to create the Aygo/107/C1 city car, and a joint manufacturing initiative with General Motors which created vehicles like the Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix twins.
Toyota is working on convertible versions of the Toyobaru twins with the deal with PSA Peugeot-Citroen still ongoing for future city cars. Tada says Toyota is keen to attract fresh partners if something outstanding can be produced.
