Toyota Prius C Concept previews future addition to the Prius line-up

The new model is expected to go on sale in early 2012, and the Prius C will be a new entry-level model in the Prius range. The car features a sleek aerodynamic design and a minimalist interior with a rounded theme and circular controls.

Toyota has not released much detail about the Prius C, but it says that the production will be the "most value-oriented hybrid in the U.S." and have the best fuel consumption figure out of any current non-plug-in hybrid cars.

"The Prius c Concept, with c representing a "city"-centric vehicle, will appeal to young singles and couples who want an eco-sensitive, high-mileage, fun-to-drive Prius," Toyota said in its statement, and added, "This dynamic vehicle with urban appeal will pursue outstanding fuel efficiency in a compact package, while also providing a surprisingly spacious interior. It will include many advanced technology features, including some offered on the current Prius."
