At the Toyota Motor Asia's Media Day event, held on the sidelines of the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, the brand has announced that it will be strengthening its commitment to its "Mobility for All" vision through its multi-pathway approach.
This approach, specifically on carbon neutrality, focuses on providing customers with a choice of sustainable solutions. This includes a full array of powertrains: From flex-fuel hybrids in South America to small hybrids in Asia and new fuel cell sedans in Japan. Toyota will also expand of this with the introduction of the Yaris ATIV hybrid model and the introduction of bio-fuel trials for the Global South.
On its "Best in Town" philosophy, Toyota says that one example of this is its global vehicle platform termed IMV (Innovative International Multi-Purpose Vehicle), which was introduced in 2002 with the goal of creating a common platform to support different vehicles that meet diverse mobility needs of developing markets, thereby achieving economies of scale that enable affordability and access.
Toyota also unveiled a diverse lineup of brands including Lexus, GR, and Daihatsu at the event. More than simply a product showcase, this was in line with its aforementioned "Mobility for All" vision, with Toyota emphasising that the "All" represents every individual’s right to their ideal mobility solution. The brand's new Land Cruiser FJ, which will be produced in Thailand, will also be showcased at the event. Its Japan launch is planned for mid-2026.
The brand has also said that in the next three years, it aims to introduce more than 10 additional xEV models in Asia, in line with its "30 by 30 mission" where it aims to sell 30% of xEV across the ASEAN region by 2030.
Toyota is also exploring new mobility solutions and pilot projects to reduce CO2 emissions and promote mobility for all by integrating vehicles, energy, and data solutions to create efficient and low carbon mobility offerings for specific needs. In addition, by embracing a hands-on mindset, Toyota has said that these strategies will begin with immediate effect.
