Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) has announced that, as of 21 March 2025, the partially upgraded 3.0-litre Supra RZ Grade will be released for sale at Toyota dealerships across Japan.
In addition, the lottery for the special edition Supra "A90 Final Edition" will also begin on the same date at GR Garage locations across Japan, of which only 150 units will be available in Japan (total 300 units globally). The entry period will run till 13 April 2025, with the winners to be announced on 9 May 2025.
The Supra model was brought back into production by Chairman Akio Toyoda in 2019 and has continued to evolve since, with partially upgraded models released in 2020 and 2022. The 2025 model will feature an improved drivetrain with reduced understeer during cornering and better handling, as well as improved braking performance.
In terms of its exterior, the new Supra RZ Grade sports a strengthened front stabiliser contributing to precise handling, a strengthened rear underfloor brace structure to increase body rigidity and controllability, and an optimised electric power steering for a more direct steering sensation and improved control performance, among others.
Inside, the 2025 model's driver's seat is upholstered in "GR"-embroidered Alcantara and genuine leather. A ring and the stitching on the shift knob (in six-speed manual-transmission vehicles), as well as the seatbelts have been done in red to accentuate interior sportiness.
As for the special edition Supra "A90 Final Edition", its engine control has been optimised to boost its power from 285kW (382bhp) to 320kW (429bhp) and its torque from 500Nm to 570Nm. Cooling performance is enhanced by strengthening the radiator cooling fan, adding a sub-radiator, and enlarging the differential gear cover cooling fins. Its Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres (19-inch in the front and 20-inch in the rear) are engraved with the TGR logo and are 10mm wider than those on the conventional Supra, improving cornering stability and limit-pushing performance.
Inside, carbon-fibre full-bucket seats with Alcantara-covered seat pads firmly hold the body to support accurate driving even when the driver is subjected to g-forces. Its steering wheel, door trim, centre console kneepad, centre armrest, shift knob boot, and the centre portion of the instrument panel are covered in Alcantara. In addition, red seatbelts and exclusive carbon-fibre scuff plates enhance the exclusivity of this limited-edition model.
Both the partially upgraded Supra RZ Grade and the special edition Supra "A90 Final Edition" will be on display at the 2025 AUTOBACS SUPER GT Round One, to be held at Okayama International Circuit in Japan, from 12 April 2025 to 13 April 2025.
