Borneo Motors today announced the launch of the all new Toyota Yaris Cross in Singapore. Combining quality performance, a unique SUV style and uncompromised safety features, the Toyota Yaris Cross is crafted for drivers with busy and active lifestyles.
The design process of the Toyota Yaris Cross was embarked by a wide team from studios in both Europe and Japan. Viewed from above, the distinct diamond-cut exterior, combined with four bold fenders, lends the Yaris Cross an 'Energetic Smart' shape that is both strong and sophisticated. Heavy emphasis was also placed on a higher ground clearance with a strong horizontal axis to emphasise the car's unique SUV style.
At the rear, a square-shaped central portion and large back door opening accentuates the model's high functionality. The fender, with a generous overhang, also expresses powerful robustness, combined with the horizontal rear tail lamps and rear screen.
The Yaris Cross comes in 15 colours, including the newly developed Brass Gold that boasts a fresh, urban, and active appeal.
Apart from its robust and elegant exterior, the all new Toyota Yaris Cross was also designed with the driver in mind, and comes fitted with ample boot space and a comfortable cabin interior for a peace of mind during drives.
An adjustable deck height gives users the flexibility of either a secure underfloor compartment or increased trunk space for larger loads. In addition, the deck board itself can be split in two, giving customers both increased space and an underfloor storage area.
With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the built-in infotainment display, the Yaris Cross also integrates seamless connectivity. This intelligent setup blends perfectly with a fully digital instrument panel that befits the demands of contemporary urban commuting.
Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture platform, the Yaris Cross is lightweight, while having high rigidity and a low centre of gravity. In combination with a revamped suspension, the Yaris Cross achieves both agile handling and a high-quality ride.
The car is equipped with a new-generation hybrid electric vehicle system that uses a 1.5-litre Dynamic Force Engine, and has a combined system output of 110bhp. Precision-engineered to reduce friction and mechanical losses and optimise combustion speed, the result is high torque at low engine speeds and excellent fuel efficiency.
The Yaris Cross adopts a lithium-ion hybrid battery that is not only more powerful but smaller and lighter than nickel-metal hydride batteries. Compact dimensions allow the battery to be located beneath the rear passenger seat so that luggage space is not compromised.
The Yaris Cross also comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, a suited of integrated active safety systems to help drivers avoid a wide range of common accident risks. The suite of Toyota Safety Sense features will include several firsts - Lane Tracing Assist, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, and Pre-Collision System with Emergency Steering Assist.
Additionally, Automatic High-Beam, Lane Departure Alert, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Parking Brake Support with Front and Rear Parking Sonar, and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert all come as standard.
