A video clip of two middle aged men fighting on a SMRT train has gone viral on the internet. The short clip, which shows two Chinese men shouting and exchanging blows in the linkway between two train carriages, has been shared on social platform Facebook for almost 1,700 times by Friday evening.
An announcement on the activation of the train's emergency button was heard halfway through the video. At the same time, screams from commuters can be heard while the two men wrestler each other to the ground.
The fight only came to a halt when a passenger stepped in to separate the pair.
In a respond to The Straits Times, SMRT's Director of Media and Marketing Communications Alina Boey said the incident took place on a south bound train that was approaching Yio Chu Kang station at around 11:55pm last Saturday. SMRT staff were activated to escort the two men out of the station.
