Volkswagen Golf gets exclusive Edition 50 model

Volkswagen has announced that it will be offering a special Golf Edition 50 to mark the 50^th anniversary of the iconic hatchback.

The special edition car will receive 'Leeds' 18-inch alloy wheels, alongside tinted rear windows and the illuminated horizontal strip at the top of the radiator grille and the illuminated Volkswagen logo. Also featuring on the Volkswagen Golf Edition 50 are three-dimensional '50' badges on its B-pillars.

The car also gets 'Edition 50' logos on its front sill panel and on the bottom section of its steering wheel. Also setting the special edition car apart are pedal caps in brushed stainless steel and a black headliner. The Volkswagen Golf Edition 50 also gets the top-of-the-range Discover infotainment system, and features including the Keyless Access keyless start and locking system, Volkswagen's IDA voice assistant system and an anti-theft alarm.

Volkswagen is offering the special edition model with a host of drivetrains, starting with the 1.5-litre TSI engine paired to a manual gearbox. The special edition car will additionally be offered with the optional Plus package, which includes a tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof and the firm's IQ. Light matrix LED head lights and a head-up display.
