Volkswagen introduces the Golf Variant to Singapore

Volkswagen is offering the Golf Variant R-Line to customers in Singapore with a 123bhp turbocharged TSI engine with 200Nm of torque.

The Golf Variant is offered with front-wheel drive, and accelerates from 0-100km/h in 9.5 seconds. A seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) is standard.

In the same vein of digitalising all versions of the Golf, standard equipment in the Golf Variant include the latest generation of the Discover Pro infotainment system, as well as a fully digital instrument cluster known as Active Info Display.

New safety features such as a blind spot monitoring function and the latest generation of the proactive occupant protection system round up the update of the Golf Variant. The Golf Variant also features the R-Line exterior styling package as standard - this includes design elements such as the front bumper with high-gloss black air intake screens, as well as sill extensions and a rear spoiler with aero flaps.

The Golf Variant's front bumper features air intake screens in high-gloss black and a unique honeycomb structure, plus a 'C' signature in high-gloss black. Other features include sill extensions, a rear spoiler with aero flaps, and R-Line badges on the radiator grille and side panels. With a large panoramic sliding sunroof on the Golf Variant, all passengers are treated to a full view out of the vehicle.

The highlight of the Golf Variant, its cargo capacity, is cavernous at 605 litres.

The Golf Variant offers ample luggage space even with five people aboard. With the back rests down to the backs of the front seats and up to the ceiling, cargo capacity expands to 1,620 litres.

Practicality is further enhanced with a roll-up cargo cover featuring a two-stage automatic feature, as well as a cargo floor with variable height.

The new Golf Variant has a list price of $137,900, and is currently retailing at a special launch price of $129,900 (including COE) from now till 19 September 2018.
