Volkswagen marks 20 years of building the Caddy at Poznan

Volkswagen is marking 20 years of production of the Caddy at its Poznan plant in Poland.

The site is said to have started production of the third-generation Volkswagen Caddy on 12 November 2003, just weeks after the vehicle was revealed.

Production of this third-generation Volkswagen Caddy is said to have been planned to happen exclusively at the Polish site, and since then, the location has become the largest automotive plant in Poland as well as the largest employer in the region. The last 20 years is also said to have seen a total of 2.6 million examples of the Caddy being produced at the site.

Production of the current fifth generation van stated in Poznan in 2020. This latest iteration is sold in 71 markets worldwide, and is available in different body variants including the lengthened Caddy Maxi version as well as a Camper Caddy California. The van can be ordered with up to seven engine variants and a range of up to 69 body colours internationally.
