At the ADAC 24-hour race at Nurburgring, which takes place on 20 June 2025, Volkswagen will be unveiling the most powerful production Golf GTI ever built to date.
As of this time, the brand has not yet teased any details regarding the new model's performance, appearance, and equipment. But what we do know is that it is a top-class anniversary model to mark the 50th birthday of the GTI in 2026.
The world premiere will take place on a weekend of racing described as tailor-made for Volkswagen fans and, just a day later, will see two enhanced Golf GTI Clubsport 24h cars compete in the 24-hour race on the circuit nicknamed "Green Hell".
Two Golf GTI Clubsport 24h cars, delivering an output of 291kW (390bhp) and a top speed of 265km/h, will start in the AT3 class for vehicles with alternative fuels. The innovative Shell E20 bioethanol fuel, which was developed in cooperation with Volkswagen, will be used for the cars.
And its not just all about the premiere of the most powerful production Golf GTI either: On a presentation area on the Nurburgring's Ring Boulevard, Volkswagen will also present the all-electric ID. GTI Concept and the top-of-the-range Golf R in a new colour finish as further highlights. Visitors to the Volkswagen World at the Ring can also gather their own experience on the Nordschleife with one of the driving simulators.
