Volkswagen marks Polo's 50th anniversary with special model

Volkswagen will celebrate the Polo's 50^th anniversary with a special model: The Polo Edition 50.

Based on the Polo with the 'Style' equipment line, the Polo Edition 50 is enhanced with additional features. Standard exterior equipment for this special edition model include 16-inch 'Coventry' alloy wheels (with an optional choice of 17-inch 'Torosa'), dark-tinted rear windows, and a 3D badge on the B-pillar with the lettering '50'.

Some of the Polo Edition 50's extra standard features include pedals in chrome-look, the Park & Comfort assist system package, and the option to select from different driving profiles

The special edition model also gets 'Edition 50' lettering on its front sill panel mouldings in its cabin, and a '50' on its lower steering wheel trim, as well as on the high-gloss black dashboard on its front passenger side.

Standard extra features include a black headliner, ambient lighting, heated sports seats at the front, a multifunction leather steering wheel, and a rear view camera system.

A further upgrade is possible with the optional Plus package. The vehicle then comes with a large tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, two-zone automatic air-conditioning with extended air filter, and the Keyless Access keyless locking and starting system with SAFELOCK.

The Polo Edition 50 is available with three different drivetrains, with the entry-level version offered with a 94bhp output and a manual gearbox. In addition, two engine/gearbox variants - at 94bhp and 114bhp - can be ordered in combination with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Pre-sales of the Polo Edition 50 will commence in June 2025 in Germany.
