Volvo Cars announces global sales results for January 2025

Volvo Cars has reported global sales of 50,820 cars in January 2025, down 5% compared to the same period last year. Volvo has said that the decrease in total sales was largely due to the timing of the Chinese New Year.
The brand also revealed that sales of its electrified models - both fully electric and plug-in hybrid cars - increased across all major markets, growing by 17% as compared to the same period last year and accounting for 44% of all cars sold in January 2025. In addition, EVs constituted 19% of all cars sold for the aforementioned month.
The XC60 was its top-selling model in January 2025, with sales of 18,972 cars (up from 18,011 in January 2024). It was followed by the XC40/EX40 with total sales of 8,736 cars (down from 12,628 in January 2024) and the XC90 at 7,473 cars (down from 8,167 cars in January 2024).
