Xiaomi has announced that it will begin official sales in China of its first SUV, the YU7, which will be available in three versions: Standard, Pro, and Max.
The YU7 now offers the most diverse colour range in its class, with a total of nine vibrant finishes. Four colours have already been revealed (Basalt Gray, Lava Orange, Titanium Silver, and Emerald Green) and this time, five new options will add to the variety: Pearl White, Ocean Blue, DuskPurple, Shadow Teal, and Dawn Pink.
When it comes to wheel and tyre options, the YU7 offers a wider selection, featuring three sizes, two finishes, and six designs. For long-range performance, the standard 19-inch Diamond-Cut wheels, paired with long-range tyres, enable the Max version to achieve a CLTC range of 760km. For quieter rides, the 20-inch wheels are equipped with sound-absorbing, long-range tyres to reduce road noise.
Beyond the exterior, the YU7 offers a diverse range of interior options, with four interior colour options: Pine Gray, Coral Orange, Twilight Blue, and the new Ash Gray & Iris Purple Dual-Tone. Inside the YU7, its seats are upholstered in Nappa leather. In addition, the zero-gravity front seats offer a 10-point massage function and 12-layer comfort system, while the rear seats offer heating. Upgraded rear headrests also offer better lateral support for an even more comfortable ride.
In terms of storage, the YU7 certainly isn't lacking in that department, with its frunk offering 141 litres of cargo space, while its rear trunk holds up to 687 litres that can be expanded to 1,758 litres with the rear seats folded down. The YU7 provides 36 compartments throughout the cabin, such as a 5.2-litre rear drawer, 13.7-litre glove box, and a 4.6-litre onboard smart fridge.
Xiaomi EVs have long been a favourite among female drivers for their sun protection, and Xiaomi YU7 continues this tradition with SPF100 and UV shielding. The windshield features a triple silver coating, while all four windows come standard with double-laminated sun-protective glass, and the panoramic roof is dual silver-coated for heat and UV shielding. The Max version further steps up with a smart-dimming EC panoramic sunroof.
As standard, the YU7 is equipped with the upgraded 'Xiaomi HyperEngine V6s Plus' electric motor, which delivers an output of 288kW (386bhp) and 528Nm of torque to the rear wheels. The YU7 Pro ups the stakes in power, with an additional motor up front that gives the SUV a combined output of 365kW (489bhp) 690Nm of torque.
But the range topper is the dual-motor YU7 Max variant, which reaches up to a maximum power output of 508kW (681bhp), a top speed of 253km/h, and can achieve a century sprint timing of 3.23 seconds.
As for range, the entry-level Standard version offers a CLTC range of 835km, while the Pro and Max variants deliver up to 770km and 760km respectively. In addition, all versions are equipped with an 800V silicon carbide platform that supports ultra-fast charging at up to 490kW. This allows the YU7 to achieve a 10-80% charge in as little as 12 minutes, as well as charging up to 620km of range in 15 minutes.
The Xiaomi YU7 is currently only available in China and is now available for pre-order through the Xiaomi EV app or Xiaomi EV WeChat Mini Program.
