Lamborghini has collaborated with audio equipment brand Technics to launch the new SL-1200M7B turntable, a special edition turntable based on the Technics SL-1200MK7/SL-121MK7 DJ models.
Both brands are said to share a common defining characteristic: Sound. The firms are thus being inspired to combine the emotions evoked by the engines of Lamborghini and the rich audio experience presented by Technics, into developing new sounds to stimulate customers.
While the Technics for Automobili Lamborghini SL-1200M7B Direct Drive Turntable System's functions are based on the SL-1200MK7/SL-1210MK7 models, its design takes inspiration from Lamborghini's iconic Y-shape pattern. The colours utilised by the system: Orange, green and yellow, are also inspired by the most iconic liveries of Lamborghini's super sports cars.
The turntable is powered by a cordless direct drive motor which delivers a stable rotation, free from cogging while delivering powerful torque. The turntable is fitted with a two-layer structure platter with improved vibration damping performance, and also comes with a pitch control function, starting torque/brake speed adjustment function and reverse play function. The tonearm accurately reads the signal engraved in the record grooves while the stylus illuminator offers high-brightness paired with a long-life LED. Thanks to the high rigidity cabinet and high dampening insulator the turntable is able to shut out all other vibrations.
In addition to the turntable, buyers will also receive a slipmat, two stickers featuring the Lamborghini and Technics logos, and a vinyl record.
The SL-1200M7B turntable will also be sold with a vinyl record that features the powerful engine and sounds of six different Lamborghini V12 engine super sports cars which were recorded for this project. The super sports cars which are featured include the 400GT 2+2, Miura SV, 25th Anniversary Countach, Diablo 6.0 SE, Murcielago LP 640, and the Revuelto.
This vinyl boasts a picture disc illustrating the tyre of the Revuelto, allowing users to listen to the engine sounds while the tyre spins on the turntable.
The turntable will be available to purchase on sales channels authorised by Technics and specialised stores running through the end of June. Only a limited but unspecified number of units will be made available.
