You will soon be able to watch YouTube while charging up your Polestar 2.
The all-electric fastback is set to support the YouTube app as part of its latest Over-The-Air (OTA) software update, the 15th of such updates since Polestar started offering them in 2020. The YouTube app will come pre-installed by default in newly produced examples of the Polestar 2.
Also coming with this update is an upgrade to the Polestar Range Assistant app, which will now allow drivers to monitor their energy consumption over the previous 20km, 40km or 100km. The app will also offer real-time energy consumption information, enabling them to adjust their driving style to improve efficiency. Also new to the app is a revised algorithm, so it now shows a projected range after accounting for changes in environmental conditions and other factors that influence efficiency.
Apple CarPlay in the Polestar 2 will also be able to show additional phone and media information on the home screen tile with this update. Drivers will also be able to handle calls using the steering wheel buttons, and project calls and Apple Maps into the car's digital instrument display.
