More than 70 cars have been shortlisted and sorted into 20 main, 3 special and 4 single categories in this year's competition, all in the name of recognising car manufacturers' efforts and creativity that brought their cars to a higher level in terms of design, efficiency, versatility, output and value for money.

Our judges will evaluate the cars based on a total of eight criteria.
The first seven criteria are based on the following:

»   Average price

»   Features (sunroof, push start button, smart key, electric seats, etc.)

»   Performance (cc, turbo, engine type, top speed, acceleration, etc.)

»   Fuel economy

»   Size

»   Safety features

The eighth criterion is where you guys, our readers, come in. In order to hold a fair competition, Consumer Voting will hold a massive 65 percent of the total score, which means your votes play a huge role in this competition.

Our judges are always on the hunt for perfection. So be sure to pay extra attention to detail and overall professionalism. Our judges will be keeping a lookout for your votes.

For the umpteenth time, our favourite and exciting Car of the Year returns for its sixth year with a relentless pursuit for perfection as we whip out the boogaloo in you with our relevant cars and categories, which sees over 70 and 20 respectively. We've worked hard to ensure that the successful system of the competition is retained without compromising our credibility, which means the same rules and regulations still apply - only cars that were launched and tested before 15th October 2015 will be qualified for Sgcarmart's Car of the Year Awards.

So as the years pass, we're stoked to see the sixth anniversary of this competition taking off smoothly for your reading and voting enjoyment.
