Built on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform, there's much to be expected from the Skoda Karoq. We are talking about Audi levels of refinement in not just the powertrain, but also its driving characteristics.
The Karoq features intricately sculpted lines, creating a clean and pleasant design - something that isn't always seen on crossovers. While the Karoq isn't the largest offering from Skoda, it features plenty of clever features that greatly improve practicality.
It is equipped with VarioFlex rear seats that splits evenly, slides and recline individually. Should you find the need for maximum cargo space, all three rear seats can also be completely removed by the average user, expanding the boot space to a ridiculous 1,810 litres! There is also a pair of Velcro-affixed partitions and an easy-to-use netting to help with arranging your cargo and keeping them in place.
Powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine making 148bhp and 250Nm of torque, there is sufficient power to get the Karoq up to speed smoothly and swiftly. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that shifts smoothly and decisively further adds to the driving experience.
Equipped with cylinder deactivation technology, the Skoda Karoq is able to achieve improved fuel economy under light load conditions by shutting down two of its four cylinders.
With a sharp steering and sufficiently firm suspension, the Karoq manages a sweet balance between comfort and sportiness. Indeed, the Karoq is a balanced crossover, offering sufficient space, great practicality through a clever design, high levels of refinement as well as a reasonable price tag.
