Electric Sedan of the Year
BYD Seal Electric
The BYD Seal is also one of Singapore’s most popular EVs and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a handsome sedan filled with advanced technology, along with the driving and safety features that consumers expect, and even in Cat A form, it’s a pretty sweet drive, too. Lastly, to cater to various driving needs, the saloon is available in three versions: Dynamic (134bhp), Premium (308bhp), and the range-topping Performance (523bhp).

The BYD Seal EV delivers an impressive blend of comfort, style, and performance. The ride is smooth and quiet, and the instant torque makes accelerating feel effortless. With a range of up to 570 km on a full charge, it's ideal for daily commutes or longer trips without worrying about frequent recharging. Inside, the car feels spacious and modern, with an intuitive touchscreen for controlling navigation, media, and climate settings. The Seal EV handles well in both city and highway driving, with responsive steering and a comfortable suspension that easily handles rougher roads. Plus, it’S packed with safety features like lane assist and adaptive cruise control, making driving feel safer and less stressful.Overall, the BYD Seal EV is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to go electric. It’S quick, stylish, and loaded with tech, all while offering a smooth, enjoyable driving experience.

Only downside is the interior design isn't my taste but overall quality is superior to competitors in the class. While looking like a sports sedan, it is actually quite comfortable and not jarring like model 3. Unfortunately, like all EVs, the range is not realistic and is only 65% of advertised, pretty much the same as competitors.

Overall, my assessment is that I am getting more premium car experience in a better price. Car interior has better design than the near rivals in its class. Comfortable premium sedan feel. The software/UI could use a little enhancement to make it more intuitive for the driver. Likewise the dashboard could have metrics that are more useable for the drivers.

Like lots of fellow Singaporeans, I was very sceptical in the past of driving an EV but has been caught by many surprises of great feedback about owning BYD Seal over 9 months from my Western friends living in Australia and NZ.Finally took a bold move to try Telsa 3 and BYD Seal before making a decision to get the latter.A close "Fight" In making our choice then .I guess it is about individual driver profile and style of making a such decision. The rest is a history- Great in driving and riding during every moment so far.
Verdict
SUVs and crossovers are the body styles that most consumers want, but that doesn't mean sedans are no longer around. In fact, one of the coolest ones available today is the handsome BYD Seal.

The Seal looks every bit like the sports sedan it is, with a low-slung stance, and steeply raked A-pillars to give it a ‘coupe' vibe. It has sports seats with fixed headrests that enthusiasts will agree with, and a panoramic sunroof to give the space an airy feel.

Like its Atto 3 sibling, the Seal also features a rotating 15.6-inch infotainment display. The cockpit has a sensible layout, with controls falling easily to hand and an infotainment system that's relatively intuitive.

Available in three versions, the Seal should appeal to a wide range of drivers. The entry-level Seal Dynamic is the sole Cat A offering with 100kW (134bhp), but if you want a bit more oomph, the Seal Premium with 230kW (308bhp) and 360Nm of torque, plus a driving range of 570km should be just right.

For drivers seeking the full sports saloon package, there's the Seal Performance. With not one but two electric motors punching out 390kW (523bhp) and 670Nm of torque to all four wheels, the century sprint is dispatched in a scintillating 3.8 seconds. No wonder it's our Electric Sedan of the Year.
