I went to 2 other generic chain of car repairs and was told that I should repair my transmission for my Honda Fit. Alarmed when they quoted me 4 to 5k. Searched for alternatives and I turned to J's Garage. Joe quoted me 900 but advised that he had to check the car first. I went there and he went through the checks with his mechanic. In the end, he charged me $30. The mechanic said that my "generic workshop" chain overfilled my engine oil beyond the max, causing the engine to heat up, causing my car to lose power so much so that I could not drive over a hump. For more than 100x the cost of a supposed transmission repair? Thanks Joe for being thorough and honest. Others might have just replaced my transmission without blinking an eye and collected the 4k. - Chin Kai Gan
