By far the worse exoerience I've had with any car workshop  Posted on 09-Jun-2025

Been driving and having car ownership for the past 3 decades, and this is probably the worse experience I've had with any car workshop.

I did some research on the the workshop before visiting, and came across some notorious reviews, but decided to still experience it for myself instead of believing im online comments, which sometimes could be biased.

The drive into AKH workshop was a rewarding one. Driving on muddy paths, across numerous run down factories and finally into the scrapyard where AKH workshop is housed.

Despite the good vibe, the visit did not last for more than 5 minutes for me. Right after I stepped down from the car, I saw a familiar face that I recognized from my earlier online research - it was Mr Ang himself. Walked up, greeted him politely, and I was immediate slammed with a cost of $80 if my car is checked in his workshop without any repair. Ohh my... What an impression Mr Ang did give! He said that is "Fair" As I would have wasted his time. I simply shook my head, started the car engine and drove off.

While this was all a brief incident, I started to think all the reviews that I've read about the workshop and its owner are real. I hope there are other more reliable workshops that I can trust to work on my Saab.

To Mr Ang if you are reading this. The nature of your business is a rare breed. I hope more can be done to preserve your business for many more years to come. All the best.

My car got error msg and ask him to check and let me know the cost.

Next day Mr.Ang the boss called me and said "My car is ready and changed this and that the bil is $450 + GST + $140 Labor"

I asked him why did not call before you do this and he said "We dont have time so we changed"

I went there and argue with them also no point because the key they dont want to release and no time to call the police.

Drive out from the shop only the same problem came out but did not go again.

Why these people so bad and please dont go here.

Recently purchased 2nd hand car had issues starting, dealer decided to send to this workshop. Diagnosed to be faulty fuel pump. Fixed, and problem resurfaced a day after collection. Had to tow it back to workshop again; fixed and problem resurfaced yet again after 2 days. Had to tow it back to workshop again, fixed and problem resurfaced a day later and car was leaking petrol. Again had to tow it back to the workshop. On collection, I had a word with the boss and found out that it was due to a worn out clip holding the fuel pump. I questioned him if they already knew about the worn out clip on previous repairs and he cheekily said yes. And I told him that I was unhappy about the issue, and he said I wasted my time and he wasted on towing cost; and said to call it even - can't believe he had the cheek to say that. 1 month later, my car experienced the same issue and was leaking petrol again. What an absolute nightmare!

The dealer sent my car in for a servicing and a check up before delivering the car to me and the final bill was almost 4k. To think that after paying an arm and a leg the car would run good... Think again. They didn't do many things they said they would do and was paid for.

Saab expert? They might have the biggest store of spare parts but the experience has been horrid. Place looks like a scrapyard. Actually it is a scrapyard...

They missed out so many things that needed fixing or replacement and now I have to live with valves breaking down and oil leaking from the sump.

What lousy service with gross overcharging. This is definitely going to Case. Anyone wants to see the detailed bill is welcome to pm me.

Never sent in your CAR to them for servicing  Posted on 26-Jan-2012

I would like to warn all SAAB owners who no longer send in their cars to agent for servicing. NEVER NEVER go to ANG KAH HOE. They are definitely way over charging and I feel that they are also dishonest. Eg.. they charge me for a key (including the manaul key) S$320 while i just found out from Trans Eurokars that they are only charging $210 Also i just done my 80,000Km major servicing with Trans Eurokars in July last year, so i tot of sending to them for my 90,000km servicing and i still mentioned to them that the last major servicing had been done and i only need to do "normal servicing".. To my surprise they charged me almost $600 and changed alot of duplicate items which was already replaced during my 80,000km servicing.. To name a few: Fuel regulator Air filter Spark plug.. So, dont be another victim like me.. If you guys prefer not to go back to agent, then i suggest to send in your car to Griffin.. I heard alot of good reviews about them.

They replaced the Coil over for my car. Everything was done fast and sweet with no problem. Can feel that the car is more stable during higher speed cornering also. . .
