  • Citroen Ami to arrive in the U.K. as left-hand drive vehicle

    23 Sep 2021

A 74km range, 45km/h top speed, and the ability to have the driver exit the vehicle kerbside has created enough demand for Citroen to bring the Ami to the U.K.

Citroen has announced that the Ami will be available in the U.K.

However, the car will remain as a left-hand drive car in the U.K market, which means that it is the driver rather than the passenger that will benefit from a kerbside exit from the vehicle when it is parked at the roadside.

The Citroen Ami's total length of just 2,410mm makes it perfect for city streets and tight parking spaces
A full U.K. driving licence will also be required to drive the Ami in the U.K., as opposed to the minimal road safety certificate necessary in France.

Designed as a daring response to the increasing congestion and pollution faced in today's cities and urban environments, the Citroen Ami is a 100% electric vehicle with a length of just 2,410mm, allowing for an incredibly tight turning circle and easy parking and navigation in busy streets.

It utilises a 5.5kWh battery that recharges in just three hours and delivers a range of 74km, as well as a top speed of 45km/h.

The heated interior is bathed in light thanks to the model's panoramic glass sunroof. In a nostalgic nod the iconic Citroen 2CV, the manual side windows of the AMI can be opened by flipping the glass upwards into a fixed raised position.

Buyers in the U.K. will also have access to a wide range of personalisation options, thanks to colourful accessory packs and additions that allow each owner to make their Citroen Ami truly unique.
