  • Hardcore new Porsche 911 GT3 RS to be revealed on 17 August 2022

The new highly anticipated Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be even more optimised for the track than any of its predecessors.

The Porsche 911 GT3 will be getting an even more hardcore brother in the form of the 911 GT3 RS. The development of the 911 GT3 RS was inspired by the 911 RSR and 911 GT3 R GT racing cars that have proved themselves to be highly successful race cars on tracks around the world.

Porsche claims that the 911 GT3 RS will be even more optimized for the track than any of its predecessors. The familiar razor-sharp response, high revving 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine from GT3 RS's of old will feature again with the same 493bhp.

Andreas Preuninger, Director of GT Model Line at Porsche states that the reason for this unchanged power figure is due to higher emphasis being placed on the aerodynamics and chassis. He also claims that 493bhp has proven ideal for use at trackdays and club sports events.

If you are also a fan of the GT3 RS (like most of us here), do make sure to mark 17 August 2022 on your calendars to view its digital world premiere on Porsche's NewsTV portal here.
