Kia is celebrating the inauguration of five newly remodelled sustainable parks in Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, and Peru. The initiative comes as part of its Kia Parks programme, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability around the world.
Kia states that renovation works to the parks were done with recyclable and sustainable materials such as PET plastics, wood and aluminium amongst others, while the locations were chosen based on their potential to impact residents and visitors, as well as their symbolic impact in helping to communicate Kia's vision as a sustainable mobility solutions provider.
In Ecuador, the programme saw the Galapagos Islands being improved with new amenities at the key ports of Baltra and Santa Cruz. Four charging stations are also being installed on the islands, assisting them along their goal of having 100% of their vehicle imports be fully electric by 2025.
Public parks in Chile, Paraguay and Ecuador were also renewed, with a revitalisation of areas for outdoor sports including tennis and football, the provision of exercise equipment, replanting of foliage, charging stations for electric vehicles, solar panels, and amenities for people with physical disabilities.
