Is Lamborghini planning a roadster variant to the exclusive Veneno?

Unveiled as part of the Italian firm's 50^th year celebrations, the Lamborghini Veneno - limited to just three units - was an icon at the Geneva Motor Show, though the 'Le Mans meets decepticon styling' garnered mixed reviews in the automotive world.

Apparently news around the web is, Lamborghini is considering a nine-unit limited run on a roadster variant after the carmaker approached several affluent Lamborghini customers if they would be interested in buying one. As the Veneno is a reworked Aventador, it shouldn't be technically challenging for Lamborghini to remove the roof as the designers and engineers have to reapply the formula on the Aventador roadster.    

With the coupe already costing €3 million (S$4.8 million), the roadster could fetch a higher price. The Veneno was powered by a revised power unit found in the Aventador - a 6.5-litre V12 engine capable of 750bhp and a century sprint dash of just 2.8 seconds - before hitting a top speed of 355km/h.
