Christened the Ka Concept, it envisions an all new practical small car, to key markets around the world, with advanced technology and clever design at an affordable price.
Ford believes the Ka Concept communicates efficiency and precision - as bold, elongated headlamps and a long, lean look with sweeping, curved lines create a sense of movement.
With a seating arrangement for five occupants, the Ka Concept is equipped with technology usually found in larger cars, such as SYNC with Voice Control and AppLink, which enables drivers to activate apps, play music and make phone calls without diverting attention. Additionally the MyFord Dock enables occupants to store, mount and charge mobile devices such as phones and satellite navigation systems.
The five-door concept was revealed in Europe by Stephen Odell, Ford's Executive Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa, at a special event in Barcelona, Spain. Ford has sold more than 1.8 million Ka nameplate cars since its debut in 1996 and the American automaker projects the small car segment to increase by 35 percent worldwide, from four million units in 2012 to 6.2 million units by 2017.
